November 12th, 2008, Amsterdam - Modebewust, the sustainability platform for fashion students, presented on November 12th, in the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam, the symposium BEYOND GREEN II, A Fashion Odyssee. About 1000 students, teachers, journalists and fashion professionals joined this event.

The starting point for this event, which is organised in collaboration with AMFI and ArtEZ hogeschool voor de kunsten, is the final conclusion of last year's symposium (Beyond Green I: Progress in Fashion and Sustainability). During this first symposium, Katherine Hamnett, Peter Ingwersen, Suzanne Lee and David Shah, to name a few, shared their visions on the future of sustainable fashion.
BEYOND GREEN II is an inspiring event for both students and other interested people. Numerous speakers share their thoughts on the future of sustainability, this year a.o. trend watcher Li Edelkoort, Sandy Black (professor at the London College of Fashion) and Bradley Quinn (author of books about textile and technology). Furthermore, sustainable projects of students, young designers and ngo's were presented, and the event launched the book Beyond Green.
