CSR and social organisations

In the Netherlands more than four million people are members of or donators to environmental organisations. Greenpeace, Natuurmonumenten, the World Wide Fund for Nature and similar groups have hundreds of thousands of members. Social organisations such as Amnesty International, the Dutch Consumers’ Association and development organisations such as ICCO and Novib have a large and powerful base in the Netherlands.

These organisations, also called NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organisations), are an important part of the social midfield. In the last decades their power in society has increased. MVO-platform (for the various website addresses go to Links)
